Mobiz

December 9, 2011

The Alliance Numérique, a digital association representing the gaming, media and mobility communities, has awarded the Mobiz Startup Award to the STM "Croc-en-bus” project.

The STM was participating at the U2 concerts & Osheaga as a sponsorship partner and Speed Experiential Marketing activated that sponsorship on-site. They created an unprecedented interactive game with partner 2XM Interactive. The game is perfectly in line with the message "STM collective movement", and allows an unlimited number of players to steer a virtual bus controlled from their smartphone – collectively. The average smartphone tilt action calculated from the group affects the path (left or right)of the bus allowing the transit vehicle to swallow cars on the road, effectively demonstrating environmental benefits of public transit.

This mobile software platform, which is a world first in the mobility industry, was launched at U2 concerts, and Osheaga in Montreal last summer.

An online adapted version of the game is underway and will be available in early 2012 on the STM website. It will be produced by Speed and 2XM Interactive.
